In my mind, you have learned to be the person you are today. The things you have learned from all the places you have been, all the people you have met, all the things you have done make you who you are. You are a sum of your experiences.
The problem comes when we carry our crappy memories around with us, just as they were the day they happened. We don’t learn from these memories, we just remember them, using them as some sort of emotional electric fence telling us where we can and can’t go, placing boundaries on or experience and stopping us truly enjoying life as it is.
Can you conceive of a baggage-less life? It’s not as difficult as it may seem, you just have to give yourself permission to leave behind what was so that you can truly enjoy what is.
Or do you have a reason not to?
