Structured coaching for neurodivergent individuals

Neurodivergent people often grow up being told to “try harder”, “focus more”, or “just be organised”.

Over time, that takes a toll.

If you're navigating work, relationships, and burnout, living in a world not designed for your brain can feel exhausting.

Neurodivergent coaching helps make sense of that experience and build ways of living that work with how your mind works, not against it.

What neurodivergent coaching is, and isn’t

This is coaching, not therapy.

The focus is on:

  • Understanding how neurodivergence shows up in daily life

  • Making sense of patterns, challenges, and strengths

  • Developing practical strategies that feel realistic

  • Reducing overwhelm, shutdowns, and burnout

  • Building confidence, self-understanding, and self-trust

It is not:

  • Crisis or risk support

  • Diagnostic assessment

  • A replacement for therapeutic support where that’s needed

If therapy or another form of support would be more appropriate, we’ll guide you in that direction.

Who this coaching is for

Neurodivergent coaching at HeadStrong supports:

  • Adults who feel overwhelmed, burnt out, or stuck in unhelpful patterns

  • Parents who want support understanding and supporting a neurodivergent child

This may include people who identify with ADHD or autism, whether formally diagnosed, self-identified, or still exploring what fits.

The aim is understanding and practical support, not labels.

How the coaching works

Neurodivergent Coaching is delivered as a structured programme, typically over 8–12 weeks, depending on age, needs, and goals.

The programme provides:

  • Time to build understanding and insight

  • Space to test strategies in real life

  • Support with emotional regulation and routines

  • Clear structure and continuity

This may also include appropriate parent involvement to support consistency and understanding at home.

This is not open-ended support.

It’s designed to create meaningful, sustainable change within a defined timeframe.

What people often gain from this work

While everyone’s experience is different, people often report:

  • A clearer understanding of how their brain works

  • Less self-blame and frustration

  • Practical systems that actually stick

  • Improved emotional regulation

  • Greater confidence and self-acceptance

The goal isn’t to change who you are.

It’s to help you work with yourself more effectively.

About Sheena

Neurodivergent Coaching at HeadStrong is delivered by Sheena, who also provides counselling and psychotherapy as a separate service.

In her coaching work, Sheena offers a structured, supportive, and practical approach, helping neurodivergent individuals and families better understand how neurodivergence shows up in everyday life.

Coaching and therapy are kept intentionally separate. If therapeutic support is needed, we’ll help you explore that instead.

Is this the right support for you or your child?

This coaching programme may be a good fit if you or your child are looking for:

  • Practical, structured support

  • Help understanding neurodivergence

  • Strategies that feel achievable and relevant

  • Support without judgement or pressure

If there are significant mental health concerns or immediate risk, another service may be more appropriate.

You don’t need to work that out alone.
